On Sunday, Dec 13 from 3 pm-5 pm there will be a vigil to protest Sen. Thomas Morahan’s untoward vote against Marriage Equality in the New York State Senate. The vigil will take place outside of Sen. Morahan's offices on New Clarkstown Road at Airport Executive Park in Nanuet (north of Route 59).

State Senator Thomas P. Morahan emphatically trampled civil rights by voting against the Marriage Equailty bill. The bill did not pass (24-38) and the Republicans voted in lockstep and did not even bother to put up a debate. It's time for Tom Morahan to go!

I often hear that political partisanship has no place in local politics. I'm told that we should chose candidates based on local issues, and not their political affiliation. But the truth is, political divisions are inherent in all political discourse and partisanship at the local level is much better than the alternative.
